(a) Location. The following area is a safety zone: all navigable waters of the Laguna Madre encompassed by an 800-foot radius around the following point: 26°6′02.1″ N, 97°10′17.7″ W.
(b) Definitions. As used in this section, designated representative means a Coast Guard Patrol Commander, including a Coast Guard coxswain, petty officer, or other officer operating a Coast Guard vessel and a Federal, State, and local officer designated by or assisting the Captain of the Port Sector Corpus Christi (COTP) in the enforcement of the safety zone.
(c) Regulations. (1) Under the general safety zone regulations in subpart C of this part, you may not enter the safety zone described in paragraph (a) of this section unless authorized by the COTP or the COTP's designated representative.
(2) To seek permission to enter, contact the COTP or the COTP's representative on Channel 16 VHF-FM (156.8 MHz) or by telephone at 361-939-0450. If permission is granted, all persons and vessels shall comply with the instructions of the COTP or designated representative.
(d) Enforcement period. This section will be enforced from 9 p.m. through 11:59 p.m. on June 27; and July 1, 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, and 29. The COTP or a designated representative will inform the public of the enforcement times and dates for this safety zone through Broadcast Notices to Mariners and Safety Marine Information Broadcasts.
