STANDARD (DEFAULT) SEARCH USES "AND" OPERATOR, EXACT SEARCH

Exact word search is ON. See section WILD CARDS. AND is default Operator. See section BOOLEAN OPERATORS below.
CustomsMobile’s Notices search engine by default performs exact searches. It also treats two or more searched words as if connected with AND. Example:
fish origin
Returns only CSMS notices containing fish AND origin. Also does not include fishes, fishing, origination, etc. See section WILD CARDS below.

BOOLEAN OPERATORS (MUST BE CAPITALIZED)

CustomsMobile Notices by default performs an AND search when two or more terms are specified and no Boolean operators are used.
AND
fish AND origin
Returns only CSMS notices containing both fish and origin (default)
OR
fish OR origin
Returns CSMS notices containing either fish or origin
NOT
fish NOT origin
Returns only CSMS notices containing fish but not origin
Any combination of Boolean operators is allowed. Example:
ring AND origin AND blue NOT value NOT nafta
Grouping is possible by use of parentheses. Example:
(fish AND origin) AND (nafta OR korea) NOT canada

WILD CARDS / TRUNCATION / FUZZY SEARCHES

Exact word search is ON. You must use wildcards or fuzzy searches for results other than exact matches.
Notices Mobile allows various types of approximation searches:
*
fish* finds: fish, fisher, fishing, etc.
The asterisk (*) finds any no. of characters. It can be placed anywhere in the word.
?
??FTA finds: NAFTA, UKFTA, AUFTA, etc.
Each question mark (?) finds one character. There is no limit to the number of question mark(s), they need not be adjacent, and can be placed anywhere in the word.
~n
fish~.7 finds: wish, fish
Following search term with ~n returns similarly spelled words. "n" ranges from 0 (least similar) to 1 (most similar). Default is 0.5.
You may combine any Boolean operator & Wild Card:
?and NOT (sand OR land)

RELEVANCE BOOST

Notices Mobile allows you to boost the relevance of terms in any search:

Boosts relevance of the term in a search. Scale is 1-10

PROXIMITY OPTIONS

Exact word search is ON. Use * for wildcard. Ex: fish* = fished, fishing, fishery, fish-face, etc.

Finds the words in quotes within n words of each other in either direction
Combine with NOT to exclude results containing words in a certain proximity
Certification NOT "certification origin"~10

FIELD OPTIONS

Exact word search is ON. Use * for wildcard. Ex: fish* = fished, fishing, fishery, fish-face, etc.
Fields can be searched using any methods allowed for a standard search, e.g., Boolean, Proximity, Wild Cards, Boosting Fields search can be incorporated into a standard search.

Searches content of attachment. In the above example, we will be returned all searchable attachments that contain the term "Automated Broker Interface" (does not search quotation marks, rather performs an exact search).
attachment.content_type:
Searches notices by attachment type. In the above example, we have: all notices with attachments (*), notices with PDFs attached (*pdf*), and notices with Word .docs attached (*doc*)).
