1. AS OUTLINED IN A FEBRUARY 12, 1998 MEMORANDUM TO THE FILE,
THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE IS USING FOR ITS OWN RECORDS AND
FOR THE FEDERAL REGISTER, A UNIFIED CASE NUMBER, A-588-824,
FOR HOT-ROLLED CARBON STEEL FLAT PRODUCTS, COLD-ROLLED
CARBON STEEL FLAT PRODUCTS, AND CERTAIN CORROSION-RESISTANT
STEEL FLAT PRODUCTS FROM JAPAN. THIS CASE WAS ORIGINALLY
INITIATED UNDER CASE NUMBERS, A-588 824 FOR HOT-ROLLED, A-
588-825 FOR COLD-ROLLED, AND A-588-826 FOR CERTAIN CORROSION
RESISTANT STEEL. (58 FR 7103 (FEB. 4, 1998). THE
INVESTIGATIONS FOR HOT-ROLLED AND COLD-ROLLED CARBON STEEL
FLAT PRODUCTS AND LIQUIDATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THESE
INVESTIGATIONS WERE TERMINATED ON AUGUST 9, 1993 (58 FR
44163 AUGUST 19, 1993). HOWEVER, FOR THE FINAL
DETERMINATION, THE DEPARTMENT USED A UNIFIED CASE NUMBER FOR
THE ALL OF THE ABOVE PRODUCTS, WHICH IS A-588-824. (58 FR
37154 (JULY 9, 1993) THE FOURTH REVIEW OF CORROSION
RESISTANT STEEL FROM JAPAN, (PERIOD OF REVIEW: 96-97) WAS
INITIATED UNDER CASE NUMBER A-588-824.

FOR TRANSMISSIONS TO CUSTOMS, THE DEPARTMENT WILL REFERENCE
CORROSION RESISTANT STEEL ENTRIES FOR CERTAIN CORROSION
RESISTANT STEEL PRODUCTS FROM JAPAN UNDER CASE NUMBER A-588-
826. THE CUSTOMS MODULE CURRENTLY REFLECTS AND WILL CONTINUE
TO REFLECT CASE NUMBER A-588-826 FOR CORROSION RESISTANT
STEEL FROM JAPAN. THE CUSTOMS MODULE WILL HAVE SPECIAL
INSTRUCTIONS DESCRIBING FOR ALL CASES THE ABOVE INFORMATION
AND WILL REFERENCE THAT CORROSION RESISTANT STEEL FROM JAPAN
IS PUBLISHED IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER UNDER CASE NUMBER A-588-
824. THIS IS EFFECTIVE THE DATE THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE MADE
PUBLIC.
