1. THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE HAS COMPLETED ITS
ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW OF THE COUNTERVAILING DUTY ORDER ON LIVE
SWINE FROM CANADA FOR THE 04/01/95 THROUGH 03/31/96 PERIOD, AND
PUBLISHED THE FINAL RESULTS IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER ON 01/14/98.

2. IMPORTS COVERED BY THE REVIEW ARE LIVE SWINE, EXCEPT U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE CERTIFIED PUREBRED BREEDING SWINE,
SLAUGHTER SOWS AND BOARS, AND WEANLINGS, (WEANLINGS ARE SWINE
WEIGHING UP TO 27 KILOGRAMS OR 59.5 POUNDS) FROM CANADA. THE
MERCHANDISE SUBJECT TO THE ORDER IS CLASSIFIABLE UNDER
HARMONIZED TARIFF SCHEDULE (HTS) ITEM NUMBERS 0103.91.00 AND
0103.92.00. THE HTS ITEM NUMBERS ARE PROVIDED FOR CONVENIENCE
AND CUSTOMS PURPOSES. THE WRITTEN DESCRIPTION OF THE SCOPE
REMAINS DISPOSITIVE.

3. ACCORDINGLY, FOR SHIPMENTS OF LIVE SWINE FROM CANADA
ENTERED, OR WITHDRAWN FROM WAREHOUSE, FOR CONSUMPTION ON OR
AFTER JANUARY 14, 1998, YOU SHALL COLLECT A CASH DEPOSIT OF
ESTIMATED COUNTERVAILING DUTIES OF ZERO FOR ALL
PRODUCERS/EXPORTERS.

4. THIS CASH DEPOSIT REQUIREMENT WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL
PUBLICATION OF THE FINAL RESULTS OF THE NEXT ADMINISTRATIVE
REVIEW. DO NOT LIQUIDATE ANY ENTRY SUMMARIES OF MERCHANDISE
INCLUDED IN THIS ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW UNTIL ASSESSMENT
INSTRUCTIONS ARE RECEIVED.
