RE: The tariff classification of cookware and kitchen implements from
Colombia
Dear Mr. Negron:
In your letter of no date, received in this office on September 12, 1997, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The merchandise is a variety of cooking ware and kitchen implements. The cooking ware comprises cake forms, made of aluminum sheets. The kitchen implements are cookie or pastry cutters, made of tin-plate steel sheet.
The applicable subheading for the cooking ware will be 7615.19.7030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for table, kitchen or other household articles, of aluminum, other, cooking and kitchen ware, not enameled or glazed and not containing nonstick interior finishes, other, cooking ware. The rate of duty will be 3.5 percent ad valorem.
The applicable subheading for the cookie cutters will be 8205.51.3030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other household tools, kitchen and table implements and parts thereof, of iron or steel. The rate of duty will be 4.3 percent ad valorem.
This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
