RE: The tariff classification of a baby’s bib from China.

Dear Ms. Aldinger:

In your letter dated June 15, 2015, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Your letter was accompanied by a sample which will be returned to you, as requested.

The submitted sample, Item 9036777 described by you as a “Hanukkah Bib” is a babies’ bib constructed of 100% cotton woven terry fabric. The bib is secured at the rib-knit neck by a snap and a two piece hook and loop closure. The bib also features a fringed bottom measuring approximately one inch in length. The bib is embroidered with the words, “Baby’s First Chanukah” and features an embroidered dreidel approximately 1 ½ inch wide and 2 ¼ long. The item is sized for babies. The applicable subheading for , Item 9036777 will be 6209.20.5050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Babies’ garments and clothing accessories: of cotton: other: other, other: other. The rate of duty will be 9.3 percent ad valorem.
