RE: The tariff classification of Efinaconazole (CAS 164650-44-6) in bulk powder form, from Italy
Dear Ms. Forstenzer:
In your letter dated October 29, 2014 you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The subject product, Efinaconazole, is an azole antifungal. It is indicated for the topical treatment of onychomycosis of the toenail(s) due to Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.
The applicable subheading for the Efinaconazole in bulk form will be 2933.39.4100, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Heterocyclic compounds with nitrogen hetero-atom(s)only: Compounds containing an unfused pyridine ring (whether or not hydrogenated) in the structure: Other: Other: Drugs: Other.” The rate of duty will be 6.5 percent ad valorem.
