RE: The tariff classification of a woman’s dress from China
Dear Ms. Fox:
In your letter dated July 31, 2006, on behalf of Ann Taylor, Inc., you requested a classification ruling. Your sample is being returned as requested.
The submitted sample, style number 27-154767, is a woman’s dress that extends to the mid-thigh area. It is constructed from 56% polyacrylic, 24% polyamide and 20% mohair knit fabric. The dress features a ribbed cowl collar, long sleeves with ribbed cuffs, and a ribbed bottom. A partial cable knit pattern is on the front panel and sleeves.
The applicable subheading for the dress will be 6104.43.1010, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s dresses, knitted: of synthetic fibers: containing 23 percent or more by weight of wool or fine animal hair: women’s. The duty rate will be 14.9% ad valorem.
