RE: The tariff classification of a rubber bushing from China.
Dear Ms. Austin:
In your letter dated June 7, 1995, you requested a tariff
classification ruling.
The sample submitted with your letter is a bushing used on a
trailer suspension. It is designed to reduce the transmission of
high frequency vibration and noise from the road to the trailer
body. It consists principally of natural rubber, with an inner

4016.99.3500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States
(HTS), which provides for other articles of vulcanized rubber
other than hard rubber, of natural rubber, other. The rate of
duty will be 3.4 percent ad valorem.
This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section
177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry
documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported. If the
documents have been filed without a copy, this ruling should be
brought to the attention of the Customs officer handling the
transaction.
