RE: The tariff classification of a hand dryer from China
Dear Mr. Parks:
In your letter dated April 3, 2007 you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of Dyson Inc.
The item in question is the Dyson hand dryer, identified as X062. The hand dryer uses high velocity blades of air to remove water from the user’s hands. Air is drawn into the casing of the dryer via an inlet by a fan driven at high speeds.
The applicable subheading for the hand dryer will be 8414.59.60, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for, other fans. The rate of duty will be 2.3 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
